Best papers will be considered for special issues/sections of Journal of Business Research, Academia Revista Latinoamericana de Administración and International journal of Advertising (submit to Marketing Management Track). New publication opportunities are being added like the fast track for RBGN-Revista Brasileira do Administracao do Negocios (WoS indexed). We also will organize a BALAS Paper Development Workshop (you need to apply to be selected).
Countries rarely succeed in the absence of state institutions that can establish and enforce the “rules of engagement”, collect revenues, and provide public goods and services. It is likely that those in which institutions are strong, ensure the efficient allocation of resources, allow investment in higher yield activities, reduce uncertainty and friction, favor the convergence between private and social benefits, and facilitate the coordination of economics drivers. On the contrary, those in which public institutions are weak, may have several economic problems such as lower investment, slower growth in productivity, lower per capita income, and lower GDP growth.
In addition to the general permanent tracks, the conference special track has a specific purpose to explore and promote research regarding the linkage between public institutions and (international) entrepreneurship. Latin America is a promising region for scholars in search of the answers to the causes and consequences of institutional changes and how they affect entrepreneurial activities. BALAS 2020 Conference in Bogotá, hosted by La Salle University will set the stage to explore the answers to questions like:
